Gluten Free Fondue

Gluten Free Fondue

“Is there anything sexier than not having to clean up after a Valentine’s Day dinner? HA any night of the week…I think not!!
I love this SIMPLE three ingredient recipe because while it is gluten and grain free, it is overflowing with flavor encased in a smooth, velvety texture - and you make it in ONE pot and have ZERO leftovers.
Think mac & cheese sauce without the flour or butter!! Almost too good to be true.
If you’ve made my key lime pie, you already know that @SimplyDelishNatural makes an unflavored Jel; but did you ever consider making something SAVORY?

Ingredients

  • 1 box Simply Delish Unflavored Jel (use code: Katie)
  • 1 cup water (or chicken stock)
  • 3 cups melty cheese (I used 1 cup Gouda, 2 cups Monterey Jack)
  • ½ tsp each: garlic powder, salt, pepper

Instructions

  • ① In a medium glass bowl (or use a double boiler/fondue pot if you have it) combine one box simply delish unflavored Jel with water and seasonings.
1 box Simply Delish Unflavored Jel, 1 cup water, 1/2 tsp each: garlic powder, salt, pepper
  • ② Heat up your double boiler, fondue pot, or simply use bring a medium pot with water to gentle boil.
  • ③ Place your bowl with combined ingredients on top of the boiling water.
  • ④ Allow the liquid to warm and thicken slightly (about 5 min), then begin adding cheese one handful at a time, whisking until melted. I like pre-shredded cheese for convenience, but you can grate 3 cups of any soft cheese you like.
    3 cups melty cheese
  • ⑤ Keep stirring until the cheese has a thick, smooth consistency that ribbons when you pull it. Add more liquid to thin it out if preferred.
  • ⑥ What should you dip in your fondue? Bread. Crusty bread is usually the #1 pick for cheese fondue because it's the best at soaking up all its cheesy goodness. But also…fruit, veggies, potatoes, meatballs, even filet, chicken and large pasta noodles are all amazing dippers.
  • ⑦ And if you’re more refined than that or simply prefer to NOT eat out of a community bowl during these times, toss this unbeatable gluten free cheesy sauce over ANYTHING that will hold still.
